Natalia Stuyk

Natalia Stuyk is a pioneering new media artist specializing in video and installations. Her work explores escapism, ritual behaviors and impossible worlds.

She is currently working on interactive projects and installations, creating a symbiosis between the real and the digital, embracing new technologies that move away from conventional digital video.

Since 2012 she has created fashion films, gifs, music videos, installations, short films for exhibitions, promotions, live images for music performances, still images and, more recently: interactive experiences, data visualization and NFT.

Where does inspiration comes from?

I've always been obsessed with things that lead to infinity, that have no beginning and no end and that the more you look at them, the more your perception of them changes. It's a bit like music, that after listening to it so much, you become aware of certain aspects that you didn't notice the first few times.

What kind of music do you listen to?

When I listen to something it's usually atmospheric music so very ambient because it helps me concentrate - like Malibu and Kara-Lis Coverdale.

‘Temporal’ is a piece influenced by transient life cycles. It depicts the body as an ephemeral vessel for the emergent collective consciousness – a finite moment expressed as an infinite loop.
